Health Freedom
Health Freedom: My Number One Priority

Health freedom is the most important issue in my life. Like many others, my family and I have faced serious health challenges and tragedies. Our healthcare system is fundamentally broken, lacking proper oversight and accountability.

During my time on Capitol Hill, I had the privilege of working on critical health issues. I fought for reforms to lower prescription drug costs, advanced research to cure diseases and cancer, and supported patients and families affected by serious health conditions. Additionally, I contributed to global health programs through the State, Foreign Operations, and Programs appropriations process. My focus included improving access to maternity and childhood care in developing countries and providing surgery and aid for vulnerable children with health issues.

It is imperative that we get this right, ensuring hope for those affected by health crises.

My Top Priorities:

-
Overhauling the Healthcare System:
-
Conduct a complete congressional overhaul of the U.S. healthcare system.
-
Ensure robust oversight and accountability of federal health agencies, laboratories, funding programs, the WHO, Gain-of-Function research, and One Health policies.
-
-
Accountability and Ethics in Health:
-
Ensure bioethics, scientific integrity, and informed consent, medical practice, and research.
-
-
Support for Patients:
-
Advance care and recognition for those impacted by pharmaceutical injuries, disabilities, and deaths.
-
Promote efforts to prevent adverse reactions.
-
-
Emergency Preparedness:
-
Develop multi-disciplinary approaches to emergency preparedness and response.
-
Implement balanced mechanisms for evaluating policies and public communication during emergencies.
-
-
Pharmaceutical Safety:
-
Improve safety science, studies, pre-licensing protocols, post-market surveillance, and biovigilance.
-
Ensure better reporting, protections, products, and practices.
-
-
Lowering Costs and Enhancing Care:
-
Reduce prescription drug prices and healthcare costs.
-
Prioritize patient-centered care and support the autonomy of medical professionals.
-
-
Specialized Programs:
-
Expand programs for patients with diseases, disabilities, learning disorders, addictions, and mental health conditions.
-
-
Medical Care Access and Rights:
-
Protect children’s and seniors’ rights to medical care and ensure equitable access.
-
-
Independent Scientific Research:
-
Encourage independent, high-quality scientific research free from undue influence.
-
By focusing on these priorities, we can rebuild a healthcare system that works for everyone, delivering accountability, integrity, and hope to those in need.
